How it works
Sign in. Mail will go to the email address of your account.
Press “Make a new alias”. You get an address like amberwolf482@alias.utilarium.app.
Give the alias a label, for example the name of the site. Use the alias on that site, in place of your own address.
Mail to the alias comes to your inbox. The sender sees only the alias. Reply to the mail and the reply goes out from the alias.
If a site sends spam, turn the alias off. Its mail stops. Turn it on again, or delete it.
You can have 20 aliases. Read the privacy page to see what the server stores and what it does not.
Questions
What is an email alias?
An alias is an email address that sends its mail to your real address. You use a different alias on each site. The site never sees your real address.
Where does the mail go?
Mail goes to the email address of the account you signed in with. You cannot choose another address. This way nobody can send your mail to a stranger.
How do I reply from an alias?
Press Reply in your mail app. The mail has a special reply address. Your reply goes to Email aliases, and Email aliases sends it from the alias. The person sees the alias, not your address.
You must send the reply from the email address of your account. A reply from another address is refused.
How do I stop mail from one site?
Turn that alias off. Mail to it is dropped, and the sender gets no answer. The page counts the mails you blocked. You can turn the alias on again at any time.
How many aliases can I have?
You can have 20 aliases for each account. Delete an alias you do not need to make a new one.
Does Email aliases read or keep my mail?
No. It does not store the text, the subject or the files of any mail. It stores only your aliases, their labels, two counters for each alias, and the address of each person who wrote to an alias so that you can reply to them.
Mail goes through the server while it is forwarded. Read the privacy page for the details.
What is not in this tool?
There is no mailbox: you read your mail in your own mail app. There are no custom domains and no PGP. A mail bigger than 5 MB is not forwarded. You get a short note instead.
